Shopping at the mall

With a title like that, those of you who know even a little about me are now probably thinking, “Oh no, she went to the mall and it either pissed her off or made her cry.”
Check this out:

It did NEITHER!!! I actually had fun! At a mall! Shopping!

I’ll pause for a bit so you can get your bearings now that your worlds have been turned upside down.

Okay, feel better?

My sister in law and I decided to take the babies (and what must have been hundreds of pounds of assorted baby accessories) to the mall 15 minutes away. It’s not a big one, but is nice and not overwhelming. This was a very intimidating undertaking. Drive to a mall and shop with a 7 week old, a 13 week old, and a person who hates malls?

But it turned out great! I found some clothing that fit well enough to not make me cry (Thank you, American Eagle). Both adults tried on clothing, sans baby. We ate in the food court. Then, as we were about to head for the door, we found a store that looked like it just might have a few birthday and Christmas gifts so maybe we should stop in.

Dude. Everything in the whole store was $6.98. DUDE. Jeans, t-shirts, everything. We went up to the cash register feeling like we had gone insane buying a boatload (okay, a strollerload) of stuff, and we had both spent under $70. (One of us was well under, the other a little closer.)

Now that’s a good shopping trip.

Then we came home and did a photoshoot with the cousins. As usual, click on the picture for a slideshow.

God, they are both so cute. I especially like that last picture where Wes looks really drunk.

Um, do you have a record of Russ’s whereabouts during November 2005? Because Dorrie looks just like Penny (I guess the other way around, given that Dorrie is 2 weeks older) in this picture.

    Fun at the Mall!!!!! Sweet!!!

Yay for a good shopping trip! Sounds like you had a good time.

I absolutely love that picture – I’m imagining a little cartoon thought bubble over Dorrie’s head that says, “Dude, you really need a diaper change, pronto.”

Way to go, my friend. Looks good! I heard about the efforts to get Wes a-smiling. Glad the mall wasn’t too scary.

What they don’t know is that Wes really WAS drunk. Shhh, don’t tell….

Um, just in case I wasn’t clear a few weeks ago, I’d like to reiterate that I CALL FIRST DIBS ON HOLDING DORRIE AT HOMECOMING! I’ll be at the VUCA at 11 a.m. Be there or face the consequences.
