Why don’t you people tell me these things?

I* put a little Amazon recommending dealie over in the sidebar a couple of months ago because I like to let people know about things I like.  I like buying things based on other peoples’ recommendations, so I figured I’d send my favorite products out into cyberspace.  (I also think ThisNext is way cool.)  And you know what I discovered?  They actually do pay you when people buy things!  I mean, Amazon comes out and tells you that they’ll give you a referral fee, but I still assumed that it was pretend money or a joke or something.  But no!  They give you real actual money!

Being that I am an ardent supporter of the free market, I don’t mind ads on websites at all.  I know they do bother some people, so if you hate them, just pretend they’re not there.  But if you don’t have anywhere else to start* when you want to shop on Amazon, click through the sidebar and whatever you buy within 24 hours gets me actual money!  Which I will then use to buy you presents because you are all pretty and/or handsome.

*By “I,” I mean, “Dawnie: She Who Knows the Mysteries of the Computer.”

**There are plenty of places that use Amazon referral fees and are probably a lot more sympathetic and useful and whatnot than I am, so feel free to use any of them too.  But if you really are planning to just type in “www.amazon.com” then you can feel free to start in my sidebar instead.
