All was quiet…
Today while nursing Jonas and reading, I realized that the usual chatter of Dorrie creating a tea party in her bedroom was gone. And the bathroom door was closed.
I ran up the stairs with Jonas and tried to open the bathroom door but Dorrie was leaning against it so I couldn’t get in. And… it smelled like nail polish.
So, of course, I was picturing the bathroom covered in pink nail polish and me scrubbing for days, and then got her to open the door and realized that she had just been in there painting her nails. Really well. Doing a better job of it, in fact, than I can even today.

At that point she had done her left hand, so I talked to her a bit about asking Mama before using the nail polish, and why not spread this paper towel down before doing the other hand, but hey, go nuts.

So I let her paint my toenails.

If she’s doing it that well at not-quite-3, she is going to be in a lot of demand when her friends start going to school dances! I am guessing she takes after her Auntie Betony in that, because she certainly didn’t get it from me!
