3. WHAT’S ON YOUR MOUSE PAD? What is this “mouse pad” of which you speak? (I’m a touch pad kind of girl)
4. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE BOARD GAME? Does cribbage count? Or probably Trivial Pursuit — we have about 8 different types.
5. FAVORITE MAGAZINE? Better Homes & Gardens, most non-lame cooking magazines
6. FAVORITE SMELL? Right now — grapefruit. DAMN, I’m craving a lot of grapefruit.
7. LEAST FAVORITE SMELL? That nasty-ass 2 foot long carp that was decaying on the beach at the cottage in Wisconsin this fall. It was so bad Ogie didn’t even want to play with it.
8. WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU THINK OF WHEN YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING? Mmm… grapefruit and bagels…
9. LEAST FAVORITE COLOR? It depends on the situation. Probably the colors of whichever sports team is pissing me off at the moment.
10. HOW MANY RINGS BEFORE YOU ANSWER THE PHONE? Depends on who’s on the caller ID
11. FUTURE CHILD’S NAME? That’s still classified information. Ask again at the end of July.

14. CHOCOLATE OR VANILLA? Chocolate.
15. DO YOU SLEEP WITH A STUFFED ANIMAL? No. Though I do sleep with a large man and a large dog. I’m thinking we might need a king sized bed instead of a queen soon.
16. Do you like STORMS? I love storms, but I know far too much about lightning for it not to scare the crap out of me. Did you know lightning can strike 10 miles out in front of a storm?
17. WHAT TYPE WAS YOUR FIRST CAR ? A 1990 Ford Taurus. That was a great car until the transmission bit it on the way home from college.
18. IF YOU COULD MEET ONE PERSON DEAD OR ALIVE WHO WOULD IT BE? I’d love to have a conversation with Martin Luther. And Thomas Jefferson. I’d love to meet Bill Wirtz (owner of the Blackhawks) and Gary Bettman (NHL Commissioner), but it wouldn’t be to talk. It would be to kick them repeatedly until they stopped screwing up my favorite sport.

25. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE MOVIES? Blah, movies. I don’t watch a lot of them and they have to be REALLY good for me to keep them. But a lot of Pixar movies are great and I have some other random favorites. Desert island movie: Slapshot.

27. WHAT’S UNDER YOUR BED? A whole hell of a lot of dog hair.

33. FAVORITE TV SHOWS? It’s not on anymore, but Due South. BRILLIANT. You can get it on DVD though.

34. HAMBURGERS OR HOTDOG? Hot dog with everything and sport peppers, please.
35. FAVORITE SOFT DRINK? I like the gourmet root beers.
36. THE BEST PLACE YOU HAVE EVER BEEN? I’m pretty darn happy in Chicago where I am right now.
37. SCREEN SAVER IS ON YOUR COMPUTER RIGHT NOW? I don’t really set that. The screen just goes black. My background is a picture of Ogie though.
39. WHITE HOLIDAY LIGHTS OR MULTI COLORED? I like white the best but don’t have anything against colored. (wow, that would be a very racist sentence taken out of context.)
40. FAVORITE FOOTBALL TEAM? Chicago Bears.
41. BLACK INK OR BLUE? Whichever is closest.
42. FAVORITE NUT? Pistachio
43. A SOUND YOU ENJOY? My husband and Ogie fighting with each other. There is much growling and barking, but it’s hilarious.
44. DO YOU SCRAPBOOK? Nah. I’ve used them as photo albums, but never crafty stuff.
45. WHO DO YOU MISS MOST IN LIFE RIGHT NOW? Lots of people who are way farther away than I wish they were.
46. DO YOU WISH YOU COULD RETIRE TOMORROW? I kinda like where I am right now.
47. IF YOU COULD GO ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? I want to go to South Africa
48. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN THAT YOU HAVE NO DESIRE TO GO BACK TO? I would like to visit Colorado again, but have no desire to return there to live.

Now that you all know just how big of a part of my life grapefruit is, you may like this article. It makes me very glad I’m not Vietnamese.
Also, my husband stopped by the grocery store last night at 1am or so on his way home from his bowling league. He came in and told me, while I woke up just a little. I said, “Did you buy more grapefruit?” He said, “Um, no. I figured that since you had just gone to Jewel today, you had enough to last you for a while.” So then I had to explain to him that when I go to a grocery store via public transit to get dinner, I can’t fit more than two or three grapefruits in my bag without it getting far too heavy. And two or three grapefruits is only a one-day supply! He felt pretty bad (though I didn’t mean to make him feel bad — how is he supposed to know that I can only carry home two grapefruits at a time?), and probably will never forget again.
